Sandra Oak has more than 20 years experience in strategic public relations, branding, positioning and integrated marketing communications. She has a talent for forging strong relationships with the media and leveraging those relationships on behalf of clients. Sandra has directed national and international branding and media campaigns for a diverse client base including start-ups and business incubators, corporate entities, educational and healthcare institutions, Clients have included Indiana University Emerging Technologies Center; Kimberly-Clark Professional Healthcare; Roche Diagnostics Drugs-of-Abuse Testing; Emergent Technologies, Inc. and Polymer Technology Systems.
Sandra founded the public relations departments of Pollak Levitt and Nel Advertising in Atlanta and the Orlando office of Greenstone Roberts Advertising. Her corporate experience includes the position of Director of Marketing Communications with Sigma Diagnostics, where she implemented the global public relations and marketing communications for five product lines. She also served as Director of Public Relations for MCG Health, Inc., the operating entity of the Medical College of Georgia and Clinics.
As an experienced publicist, Sandra has substantial expertise in all areas of public relations, including comprehensive media relations, product placement and crisis communications. For client Kimberly-Clark Professional Health Care, she achieved free, ongoing product placement on the television series, ER, for Kimberly-Clark’s new surgical gown. Her recent media “hits” include free product placement for a client on the TV daytime talk show, “The Doctors,” and editorial in WIRED, the popular national magazine focused on the digital revolution.
Sandra has worked on “three sides of the desk” as a public relations firm professional, corporate marketing communications executive, and on the media side as a financial news editor with StratComm USA, contributing editor to Banking Today magazine, and a columnist for lifestyle publication, Seminole Magazine.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Sandra holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education with a minor in Speech Communications. She has received several awards in the course of her career, including the Biomedical Marketing Association Award of Merit for the Sigma Diagnostics website as well as advertising awards for both print and video production.
